Russian experts find who and where abused prisoned Russian soldiers
Russia's Investigation Committee is going to hold an expertise of the shocking footage that appeared online of the AFU's brutal treatment of Russian prisoners. The Ukrainian military shoot at prisoners during interrogation. Some of them are tied up, others have white sacks on their heads. One soldier in the video is either dying or losing consciousness. Such treatment is a direct violation of the international norms and, in particular, the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
The gruesome footage of abusing the Russian prisoners of war horrified even the Bild propagandists. Julian Röpcke, a journalist for the German agency, says: "If it is confirmed that the footage is real (and there are many reasons for this), it is a war crime on the part of the Ukrainian troops!" Kiev does not recognize the authenticity of the video. The commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhny, called the video a fake and urged to trust only the official sources of information. And the speaker of the Office of the President Oleksiy Arestovych assured that a thorough investigation will be carried out in connection with the video.
Meanwhile, Russian sources have established from the video who and where exactly abused Russian soldiers. Reportedly, it took place on the western outskirts of the village of Malaya Rogan (near Kharkov). The perpetrators have also been identified: one of them turned out to be 28-year-old Sergei Velichko, known under the pseudonym "Chili." He took part in military actions as a member of the Azov regiment, but his personality is known to many people not for his military achievements. The leader of Kharkov nationalists was in prison for racketeering, banditry, extortion, and kidnapping, but was released from custody after the start of special operations in Ukraine. Another person responsible for the shooting of Russian soldiers was the battalion commander of the Kharkov territorial defense cell Konstantin Nemichev.
