Retaliation operations for AFU strike on Makeyevka - more than 600 Ukrainian soldiers killed
The command of the Combined Group of Russian Forces carried out a retaliatory operation in response to the criminal strike of the Kiev regime on the temporary deployment point of Russian soldiers in Makeyevka, the Defense Ministry said. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
The Russian Defense Ministry explained that over the past 24 hours, reconnaissance assets had uncovered the Ukrainian militants' base locations in the city of Kramatorsk. This information was reliably confirmed by several independent channels.
There were more than 700 AFU fighters in dormitory #28, and more than 600 in dormitory #47. "As a result of a massive missile strike on these points of temporary deployment of AFU units they destroyed more than 600 Ukrainian servicemen," the report said.
In the first minutes of the newyear, the Ukrainian army fired six missiles from HIMARS rocket launchers at a temporary deployment point of Russian soldiers near Makeevka. Four missiles hit the building, causing the ceilings to collapse. According to the latest data, 89 servicemen were killed, including the regiment's deputy commander.
The Ministry of Defense said that the main cause of the deaths was the use of phones, which could be tracked by the Ukrainian troops. The Defense Ministry stressed that it would take all measures to prevent similar incidents in the future, and after the investigation, the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
