Peskov: Russia has been and remains a reliable supplier of energy resources

The demand to pay for gas in rubles is not blackmail, Russia remains a reliable supplier of energy resources. This was stated by the Press Secretary of the Russian President. Dmitry Peskov assured that Moscow has calculated all the risks. De facto payment in rubles does not change anything for the buyers, there are no losses or price changes.

More and more countries are agreeing to Russia's conditions. According to Bloomberg agency, 10 European buyers have already opened special accounts with Gazprombank for payment for supplies converted into rubles. And four European buyers are already paying for gas in Russian currency.

Earlier Gazprom announced suspension of gas supplies to Sofia and Warsaw. This decision is due to the fact that the countries have not paid for April deliveries. But the EU has its own cunning plan in this regard. The EU will temporarily increase the purchase of Russian gas through the countries willing to pay in rubles to compensate for the suspension of supplies to Poland and Bulgaria. The publication Baltnews reports about this.

Gas prices rise

Meanwhile, the exchange prices of the blue fuel in Europe surged by more than 16% in early trading, exceeding $ 1,300 per thousand cubic meters.
