Political scientists note that aggressive course of European Union towards Belarus and Russia will remain

The voting in 2024 was closely followed all over the world. The increase in the number of Euroskeptics in the European Parliament was expected. However, the U.S. may not allow Europe to refuse to participate in the profitable Ukrainian war. And it is unlikely that the EU will cancel negative rhetoric against Russia and Belarus. And the election campaign itself was by no means “democratic and transparent”.

Petr Petrovski, political scientist:

“Throughout the election campaign, the opposition forces faced so-called political ostracism, a culture of abolition, when supporters and Euroskeptic political parties were actually harassed.”

"These are quite contradictory election results. I think the manipulation of public consciousness will lead to a discussion within the European Union, more anti-migration policies. However, in the field of relations with Belarus and Russia, the negative, aggressive course will continue,” said Petr Petrovski.
