Lithuanian Seimas approves presidential decision to expand powers of the military on border with Belarus

Lithuanian Seimas approved the presidential decision to expand the powers of the military on the border with Belarus. Beating migrants is still illegal, but giving binding orders, pursuing and detaining people, who do not obey these orders by military patrols is now allowed. The Lithuanian border guards are also allowed to stop and inspect transport vehicles, their contents, luggage, passengers and baggage, as well as to use special equipment.
