Bulgaria protests against demolition of monument to Soviet Army

In Sofia, the dismantling of the monument to the Soviet Army continues. Although the authorities call the cause of the monument dilapidation - instead of restoration they chose to actually destroy it. Ordinary Bulgarians actively opposed the government's war on memory, rallies and pickets were held. This time the demolition of the monument was prepared in secret. But already today an initiative group has been created, which demanded to stop the vandalism and hold a referendum. According to the activists, such barbaric actions are impossible without the authorization of the people, who will never approve them.
