Belarusian State Philharmonic Society opens new symphonic season on September 15
A new symphony season will open tonight at the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society. They will start with modern classics, the oratorio "Poet" by composer Dmitry Smolsky to poems by Yanka Kupala will be performed by the Tsitovich National Academic Folk Chorus. In the acoustics of the Great Hall, Mahler's Fifth Symphony will be performed for the first time in decades. They have been working on the season's opening program for several months. The entire symphony orchestra will be on the stage. The students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music will support their senior colleagues.
