Belarusian "Avantground" at Center for Contemporary Arts in Minsk
The experiments from the era of the "framed" socialist realism are exposed at the Center for Contemporary Art in Minsk. There opened a collection of Andrei Plesanov, a collector, filmmaker and artist. In the 90s he was the first to show the underground art in Minsk and at the same time he collected the avant-garde works by Belarusian masters, many of them having hints at Kazimierz Malewicz in form and color. The exhibition project was combined in a duet with works from the funds of the center.
The emphasis on exclusivity is traced in the collection of the Historical and Archaeological Museum in Grodno. "The Man with a Shovel" was presumably painted by Kazimierz Malewicz himself.
