Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus getting ready for opening of 88th season

Fans of high art will gather again in the walls of the largest academic venue of the country on September 8. There will be five premieres in the theater's poster until New Year.

"The Nutcracker" ballet returns to the poster in the new version of the artistic director of the theater Valentin Yelizariev. The People's Artist of the USSR dedicates the performance to his colleague, in tandem with which he created a New Year's fairy tale. The legendary scenographer Yevgeny Lysik could turn 90 this season.

After a break for almost five months, the Bolshoi Theater opens its doors to the public. The 88th season starts with two premieres. On September 8 the first show of the ballet "Per Gynt" will take place. On September 11 the opera "Willis. Fatum" will be presented. In addition to the ballet "The Nutcracker", the audience will see operas "Faust" and "Pinocchio". However, a number of high-profile projects of Bolshoi are postponed to the 89th season: the competition of vocalists and the Christmas Opera Forum. The New Year Ball is under question. Despite this, the audience supports the theater and does not hurry to hand over previously purchased tickets.
