Days of Pakistan Culture held at University of Culture and Arts today
Students and teachers of Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts get acquainted with original culture of Islamic East today. Days of Pakistan Culture started there.
They will reveal to Belarusians ancient and modern art of the country, with which Belarus is in a long-standing partnership in many areas.
The country's culture is rich in traditional crafts, music and dance, authentic and ethnic customs, it was influenced by Islam, Indian subcontinent, and the times of the Mughals. The relatively young country has absorbed the diversity of subcultures, even the unequal language environment. Islamic and Buddhist architectural styles, ancient textiles and ornaments, mountain ranges and lakes are now conveyed to Belarusians by an art exhibition opened by students of the University of Culture.
Personally, the Ambassador of Pakistan to Belarus came to open a cultural university event and even visited a lecture in the audience. Sajjad Haider Khan also presented illustration, which allowed us to spend time in South Asia, see the fabulous palaces and mosques of Pakistan, bird's eye view of the evergreen valleys and mountain rivers, paradise forests, where the familiar Belarusian pine adjoins palm trees.
"Hollywood" is the name of Pakistani modern film production. There are about a dozen film studios in the country. At the university event in Minsk, Pakistan presented two films.
Contemporary Pakistani art is represented by Jimmy Engineer. He is an artist whose paintings, graphics and calligraphy are in the collections of 60 countries. In his paintings the author talks about the original architecture and natural landscapes of Pakistan, his countrymen and the history of Pakistani region.
The ambassador of the partner state noted that relations between the universities of Belarus and Pakistan will develop, exchange of groups of students and teachers is planned.
The hosts gave a cultural response to the guests gifts. A concert with songs and dances from Belarusian bands was organized by the University of Culture as part of the Open Days of Culture.
