Valery Skorozhonk, former soloist Pesnyary band, turns 60
The anniversary of one of the most lyrical voices in Belarus is celebrated Sunday. Today, Valery Skorozhonk has turned 60. A graduate of the vocal department of Grodno College of Arts, he made his debut on stage in 1978, as part of the folk vocal group Ranitsa. During his creative biography he was a soloist of Grodno Regional Philharmonic, Riga Concert Association and the State Concert Orchestra of Belarus conducted by Michail Finberg. The real fame came to the musician got when he became a member of"Pesnyary". He was the last soloist personally recruited by Vladimir Mulyavin. After the death of the founder of the group he became the leader of the Belarusian State Band. Today Valery Skorozhnok works solo and is also engaged in the revival of his small motherland, his native village Zamoshiye.
