V. Golubok’s Chamber presents exhibition "Batllejka. Classics and Modernity"

More than 10 types of the Belarusian Batllejka puppet theater, both classical and modern, were presented in the Chamber of Vladislav Golubok in Minsk. In Europe, the theaters of the batllejka type appeared in the 15th century. The subjects of the performances were usually social and religious themes. The exhibits for the exhibition were collected from different parts of Belarus: Rakov, Novopolotsk, Vitebsk and Minsk regions.

The traditions of the Batllej Theater live on even today in the productions of puppet theaters, as well as in arts and crafts.
