B&W art by Honored Artist of Belarus Valery Slauk presented at National Library
The folklore graphics by Valery Slauk is exposed in the National Library. The series of the master of book illustration who created the graphics for "Shlyakhtich Zavalni" by Jan Barshchevsky, "Ivanhoe" by Walter Scott and a number of fairy tales and stories will be timed to the 75th anniversary of the honored artist. A student of Vasiliy Sharangovich, Slauk created textbook images of pagan deities, ghosts and mermaids familiar to more than one generation of Belarusians. The graphics of the laureate of the special prize of the President also decorated a two-volume encyclopedia "Belarusian Folklore".
