History of wedding dresses presented at exhibition in Pushkin Regional Library

The wedding costumes from Minsk Region, which were worn in late 19th - mid 20th century, are presented at the exhibition in the Art Gallery of the Pushkin Library. The men's suits and dresses in different styles with matching wedding accessories are peculiar witnesses of the past years. The s specialists sewed the suits, taking into account the local color scheme, based on old photographs of those times. So, at the beginning of the 20th century the wedding dress could be any color, so it could be worn on other holidays. Then the skirt became shorter, and the long veil came into fashion. The retro-exhibition of wedding dresses is supplemented by original photos of the newlyweds with all the regional peculiarities of the Minsk Region of the last century.
