How do Belarusian people celebrate Christmas carols?

The traditions of Christmas carols are revived in the Belarusian countryside. Young people in the agro-town of Bliznitsa, Polotsk District learn from the older generation about ancient rituals, dances and songs. During Christmas carols, the locals act out a festive performance according to the old ritual: the participants go round carol-singing and wish their loved ones happiness for the whole year.
