International Museum Day celebrated on May 18

The world's attention is paid today to the nation's spiritual treasures and custodians of memory. The International Museum Day is celebrated for the 45th time! The event was added to the calendar at the Conference of the International Council of Museums in 1977. The initiative came from the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow. This year, 145 countries will unite and reveal the "power of museums", this is the motto of the 45th calendar event. The Night of Museums will begin tonight, culminating on May 21.
