More than 7.5 million people visit Belarusian museums in 2023

According to Belstat, as of the end of 2023, there were 156 museums in Belarus, including 100 general, 39 historical, 11 art, 4 literary ones, one museum of natural history, and one scientific and technical museum. More than 140,000 excursions and almost 5,000 temporary exhibitions were organized, which were visited by 7.6 million people. Their number increased by 13.6% compared to 2022. The museum collections contain 3.6 million items, of which 76.8% are included in the electronic catalog. The leader in the top visited museums of Belarus was the memorial complex "Brest Fortress - Hero", the second was the complex "Khatyn" and the third - the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War.
