People's Artiste of Belarus Y. Gladkov turns 80

Musician, who has earned a name and made the national symbol of Belarus famous. A cymbalist and the People's Artiste of Belarus Evgeny Gladkov has turned 80.The performer grew up in a musical family and spent his childhood in the sounds of contrabass, piano and guitar. He studied under the master Iosif Zhinovich. He toured half the world. Thanks to Gladkov, the Belarusian cymbals were heard from the Czech Republic to New Zealand. He shares his professional experience with his students as a teacher in the Folk Instruments Department. He is known both as an orchestral conductor and author of methodical manuals. The musician was congratulated on his jubilee by the President. Alexander Lukashenko noted that the performance skills of the folk musician and his long-standing active professional activity contribute to the further growth and popularization of Belarusian culture, arouse sincere respect and gratitude.
