Zmitrok Byadulya to be reburied in Minsk
The writer's ashes were brought to Belarus. At the request and with the permission of the relatives of the Belarusian classic, Maria Magdalena Radziwill Swiss Foundation exhumed the remains and brought them from Kazakhstan. That's where Byadulya died in 1941 in the evacuation. The remains will be reburied in Minsk, but it's still unknown when and where. Discussions are held with ministries.
Honorary Consul of Belarus in Lausanne Andrei Najeskin helped to finance the reburial. Parts of the tombstone will soon be delivered to the Museum of the History of Belarusian literature. The Ministry of Culture will also announce a competition among sculptors and artists to create a new monument.
