World opera star Vladislav Sulimsky at Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus
The Mariinsky Theatre soloist became a temporary member of the company of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. The baritone of Vladislav Sulimsky, laureate of the leading Russian theater awards, will be heard at three performances of the February playbill. The Minsk tour of the singer includes roles in "Faust" by Guno and "The Tsar's Bride" by Rimsky-Korsakov. Yesterday, the singer with Belarusian roots performed the role of Count Tomsky in "The Queen of Spades," by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Sulimsky is recognized by critics as "the singer-actor of the Chaliapin tradition." On 21 February, after his tour to the Bolshoi, the Mariinsky Opera Company soloist will be performing arias in his native town Molodechno.
