November 4, 2021 gives new impetus to Belarus-Russia Union State
The ordinance of the Supreme State Council "On the Guidelines to Implement the Union State Treaty in 2021-2023" was signed this week. November 4 became a day of official reset of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. After a quarter of a century of integration in the Minsk-Moscow format and after a three-year break between the Supreme State Councils, its Chairman Alexander Lukashenko signed the Union State integration ordinance. Three years were dedicated to detailed elaboration, search for resources and coordination of 28 sectoral Union programs, from common hydrocarbon market to foreign policy, defense and common humanitarian space. There are four signatures under the Union Decree. The documents had already been signed by Roman Golovchenko and Mikhail Mishustin, as well as Vladimir Putin.
Part of the Union agreements are already working for the Belarusian economy and are tangible in the budget of every Belarusian. This is a nuclear power plant and some of the lowest electricity prices in Eurasia, 5 times lower than in Lithuania. These are the 2019 gas prices, whereas they are already 4-7 times higher in the EU this year. This is access to the market, state procurement, the Union vaccine Sputnik V, and many other benefits.
