А. Lukashenko: It's high time to step up relations between Belarus and Venezuela
Minsk and Caracas confirmed the course for partnership. Mutual support in conditions of external pressure and restart of bilateral projects will be its basis. On October 7, Alexander Lukashenko received a special envoy of the President of Venezuela, Adan Chávez Frías. It is noteworthy that the high guest is the elder brother of Hugo Chavez, the former President of Venezuela, with whom the Belarusian leader has always maintained close friendly relations. Relations between Minsk and Caracas were more dynamic than ever during the "Сommandante" period. And today the countries intend to return to their former partnership. The President set a task to determine a clear plan for joint work and not to delay its implementation.
Belarus and Venezuela are long-standing strategic partners. Our countries have jointly launched the assembly plants for production of machinery and construction materials. The Belarusian builders construct houses for Venezuelans. Our agricultural experience and technology were also of interest. Today, many projects are subject to revision and revival, that is the result of the summit meeting. The Belarusian delegation is expected in Venezuela by the end of this year for revision of the existing projects and planning of new joint projects.
