Alexander Lukashenko warns against attempts to unleash war in Belarus
Alexander Lukashenko warned against attempts to unleash a war in the territory of Belarus in an interview to the BBC. The conversation mainly touched upon the situation with refugees and the situation on the border.
It's obvious that independent policy of Minsk irritates the West today. But we have suffered too much from ambitions of big countries. We know for ourselves what military privation is like. That's why Belarus has never initiated wars, conflicts or any kind of confrontation. Hardened by their difficult history, the Belarusians simply defend their country, their independence and the right to live in peace.
Despite the biased approach and copy questions from western journalists, the Belarusian President is not closed for mass media, he is always ready to announce the position of Minsk. And today, there are already about four dozen requests for an interview with the President from foreign mass media, informed the President's Press Secretary Natalya Eismont in YouTube stream. Her commentary touched upon the hot topics of the latest days, big European policy towards Belarus, details of negotiations of Alexander Lukashenko with Angela Merkel, as well as statements and actions of Polish authorities and the attempts to escalate the situation on the border.
Natalya Eismont called Angela Merkel one of the few politicians of the European Union who actually tries to do something to solve the crisis on the border. Belarus has never refused a dialogue with the West and it is fulfilling its obligations.
