Alexander Lukashenko is sure that Belarus should remain presidential republic
A new draft of the Basic Law of the country was submitted to the President Thursday. The head of state discussed the document in detail with the working group. The principal issues of the Constitution have been corrected. In particular: the new role of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, redistribution of powers among state bodies and maintaining the balance of the state apparatus. At the same time, Alexander Lukashenko is convinced that the existing system of power in the country should by no means be destroyed. Belarus should remain a presidential republic. There are some disputable points emphasized by the President during the meeting. There should be another meeting of the working group in the foreseeable future.
