Alexander Lukashenko meets with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov
Belarus and Russia may build relations that would be the envy of the entire world. This was stated by the President when receiving the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry. Sergey Lavrov arrived in Minsk the day before. A meeting with the head of state is an important point in the diplomat's three-day visit. It is timed to the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between our countries. Alexander Lukashenko underscored: Belarus is committed to the allied values and supports intensification of the allied dialogue in every possible way. We are determined to continue strengthening bilateral contacts in all areas. Our close relations invoke now and then criticism of our opponents and idle talk about the loss of sovereignty. Today the President once again responded to these speculations.
Today they discussed the urgent topics of the allied and international agenda at the Palace of Independence. Minsk and Moscow have similar positions. They did not ignore the issue of Lithuania cutting off transit of cargo to Kaliningrad Region of Russia. The President underlined: Minsk and Moscow have enough resources to organize the delivery of these cargoes.
