Belarus and Pakistan foster close relations in various spheres
On April 8, Alexander Lukashenko met with Pakistani Ambassador Sajjad Haider Khan to discuss peace, cooperation and new projects.
Our countries have close relations in various fields despite the thousands of miles that separate our countries. Belarus counts on strong contacts in the future. All the doors are open for Pakistan, the President stressed. A lot has been done for the rapprochement of the economies, and the role of diplomacy is significant. The complicated time for Pakistan is not an obstacle for future contacts. The country is undergoing a difficult political situation after the dissolution of the parliament and the government. But the internal tension will not change good relations between Minsk and Islamabad, assured Alexander Lukashenko.
The current level of mutual trade between the countries is not high. But Pakistan is ready to make every effort for more active business contacts, the ambassador assured. It is a good start for Belarus. Moreover, Pakistan is a huge market with a population of over 200 million people. Its agricultural vector largely determines the economic agenda. Machine building and agriculture are the key points of mutual interest.
