Belarus invited to inauguration ceremony of Iranian president

On behalf of the President of Belarus, the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Igor Sergeenko attended the inauguration ceremony of President-elect of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian.

The ceremony was attended by high-ranking guests from nearly 80 countries. The ceremony was held in the Parliament building in Tehran. Pezeshkian took the oath of office in the presence of parliamentarians, members of the Council of Guardians of the Constitution and the head of the judiciary. Iran's presidential election was held following the death of Ibrahim Raisi in a plane crash in May. Masoud Pezeshkian was elected as the country's ninth president, receiving 54% of the popular vote.
