Belarusian delegation to take part in winter session of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Vienna

The Belarusian delegation will participate in the winter session of the OSCE PA in Vienna. This was stated by Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives Andrei Savinykh, reports Sputnik.

The 22nd winter session of the OSCE PA will be held at the Hofburg Congress Center in Vienna on February 23-24, 2023.

"Preparations for the session are extremely tense and contradictory. 81 deputies were in favor of not granting visas to the Russian and Belarusian delegations. Two delegations - Poland and Lithuania - refused to participate in the winter session," said Savinykh.

According to him, the position of Belarus is just the opposite.

"We believe that the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly should be an objective, calm forum, where deputies, representatives of their countries should discuss impartially and objectively the situation in the region of Greater Europe, as well as the problems with the security of Greater Europe," said Savinykh.

He stressed that if this is not done, the security situation will only worsen.

"We are just on our way to Vienna to once again suggest to our Western partners to calm down and look at everything sensibly and in the interests of all Europe. Because everyone knows: security cannot be ensured to the detriment of a neighbor," Savinykh said.
