Eurasian Development Bank ready to invest $1.5 billion in Belarusian economy
The Eurasian Development Bank is ready to invest $1.5 billion in the Belarusian economy until 2026. This was announced today at a meeting of Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko with the head of the bank Nikolai Podguzov. There was a detailed discussion of the projects to be launched in our country this year. At the moment, the investment portfolio of the bank in Belarus consists of 41 projects. They make 17.5 % of the total amount of capital investments of this financial structure. The main areas of cooperation include hydro power, mechanical engineering and banking sector.
Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of Belarus:
“Now, of course, we are going to talk mostly about increasing the volume of investment in the banking economy. We are a full-fledged member of the EDB, so we are ready to propose to the bank to finance the selected projects.”
Nikolai Podguzov, Chairman of the Eurasian Development Bank:
"The strategy for 5 years envisages the investment of $1.5 billion to the Belarusian economy for a specified period, up to 26 years, respectively, we adhere to this strategy, we intend to implement it in full, so our Belarusian shareholders will be very interested."
