Golovchenko set tasks for Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Presenting the new Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik to the staff of the Ministry, Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko set a number of tasks for the Foreign Ministry, BelTA informs.
"The following tasks are set before the new Minister of Foreign Affairs. The first one is to turn the Ministry to the actual foreign economic and political objectives, to set clear and tangible objectives to each department and foreign institutions, as well as to take a strict control over their implementation. Second, we should work with the government and the Presidential Administration on proposals to optimize the network of foreign institutions in the shortest time possible, based on the current situation and priorities. The third thing is to find the final order with human resources and bring in fresh blood from the real sector of the economy and sectoral agencies. The fourth is to find options for a balanced work both on the eastern and western vectors of our foreign policy, based on our interests," said Roman Golovchenko.
He expressed confidence that Sergei Aleinik in his new position, with his profound experience and knowledge of the system, will provide not only continuity in the work of the Foreign Ministry, but will also meet new challenges in the emerging environment.
"And in conclusion, the most important message. A diplomat is a citizen of the Republic of Belarus. No matter what country he works in, no matter what functions he performs, he must first of all be a patriot, a living example of honest and selfless service to the homeland. It is such diplomats, no matter what countries they represent, that have made the history of international relations," said the Prime Minister.
