Juan Esteban Lazo Hernandez: Belarus and Cuba united by unbreakable bonds of friendship
Belarus and Cuba are united by unbreakable bonds of friendship. This was stated by the Chairman of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba Juan Esteban Lazo Hernandez during a meeting with the Chairman of the Council of the Republic Natalia Kochanova and the Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko, BelTA informs.
"I am a supporter of the idea that we will not have well-developed bilateral relations if there is no close inter-parliamentary cooperation," said Juan Esteban Lazo Hernandez.
The Cuban guest noted that the sanctions pressure on Cuba continues, but the country courageously resists it. "The concept was adopted that Cuba needs to inflict serious economic damage, cut off all access to financial resources, cause great hardship to the population, so that the people themselves would be against the process of revolution and the leader of Cuba, Fidel Castro. In February 1962, they officially declared a blockade. The blockade remains to this day. That is why we have so much experience, and we understand and see what they are now trying to do against you. But they did not succeed in strangling the revolution. Our courageous people fought against it. And the friends who defended us were from here from the Soviet Union. That's why they failed to put an end to the Cuban revolution."
Belarus and Cuba have a huge potential for developing relations, Juan Esteban Lazo Hernandez is sure. "When I said that we had to save the revolution, when it was reviving, I was engaged in agriculture on the party line, and there were very durable tractors of the Minsk Tractor Plant. There are MAZ buses in the capital, also of Belarusian production. BELAZ trucks are still working in our mining fields. Many of these machines have been stopped because they were left without spare parts. We must continue to work on this issue," he added.
