Contact Group on Donbass makes new attempt to agree on separation of forces

The Tripartite Contact Group on the settlement of the situation in the east of Ukraine will hold another meeting in Minsk today. During the negotiations, the parties will once again try to agree on a schedule for separation of forces. At the previous meeting (October 15), Kiev and the self-proclaimed republics failed to do so.

The Steinmeier Formula, previously agreed upon by the Ukrainian authorities, identifies two areas, where forces should be withdrawn at least one km from the border.
