Lukashenko: The world order based on international law is collapsing
Belarus takes mirror measures to protect its sovereignty, and our officers play a crucial role in strengthening the country's defense capabilities.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko made the statement at today's ceremony of honoring graduates from military higher educational establishments. This ceremony is a tribute to the generation of victors who liberated our land. It symbolizes the continuity of our values.
Today in the Palace of Independence there are those in whose hands the defense of the Motherland is in the current turbulent times. Alexander Lukashenko admitted that this is a difficult and unpredictable period. The situation around us gives no reason to relax.
Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus:
“The post-war world order based on international law, which has not always worked, has collapsed. Geopolitical tensions between member states of the NATO bloc (Russia, China and other countries, on the one hand) have entered a hot phase. Against this background, we see the neighboring countries increasing their military budgets. They buy offensive weapons for their armies. They are increasing the number of NATO troops on their territories. They conduct endless exercises near our borders. The arsenal of means of interference under far-fetched pretexts in the internal affairs of our country is expanding. In addition to the economic dictatorship, political and informational pressure, we are faced with provocations on our external borders, attempts at terrorist activity.”
