Lukashenko: The industry of Brest Region should be uplifted

Alexander Lukashenko made a number of important appointments: the Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich became Deputy Prime Minister. His chair will not remain vacant, while Aleksei Kushnarenko, the head of Beltopgaz, will be the head of the department, while First Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Valeri Verenich will be the head the Belarusian Railway.

Petr Parkhomchik was appointed Deputy Governor of Brest Region.

One should understand that it is one thing to be a deputy prime minister, and another thing is to work independently in Brest Region Executive Committee. This is a responsibility for the region, because the chairman of the regional executive committee is a central figure in the government, one should also understand this. Brest Region is a good region, but not an easy one. Why Parhomchik? Because you will deal with agriculture there together with Mikhail Ivanovich Rusy. He'll be in charge of the region. I talked to him today, he understands and knows everything about what needs to be done there. He said that we did not make a mistake with Petr Parkhomchyk (he told me so). We will put things in order there, in agriculture we will provide all possible support. But why industrialists? Because we need to uplift the industry of Brest Region.
