Lukashenko: It is necessary to preserve the civilization that has existed since ancient times
The attempt to strangle Belarus is made to hit Russia. The Belarusian leader said this at the meeting with Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin. Alexander Lukashenko stressed that Belarus and Russia are moving in one direction.
At the same time, there is a common civilization approach, as well as internal mechanisms of development with no reference to the West. As the Head of State notes, we have no right to destroy the common civilization, and the allies have everything necessary for sovereign development even under external pressure.
Despite the long-termed relations, this is the first official meeting between Alexander Lukashenko and Viacheslav Volodin. At the same time, the reconciliation of positions both at the highest presidential and parliamentary levels, takes place on regular basis.
The face-to-face format of the Parliamentary Assembly emphasizes the allied relations and the importance of certain issues. The main ones are the implementation of the Union Decree of November 4, legislative support of Union programs for next 2 years and the joint reaction of the parliaments of Belarus and Russia to the external aggression. 2021 is a jubilee year! The lawmakers admit that now Belarus faces the most difficult challenges in its history.
The Union integration at the presidential level was reset on November 4 at the Supreme State Council, and then the Union decree and 28 union programs were signed.
Another area is the allied defense and foreign policy, the reaction to sanctions pressure and the strengthening of the NATO grouping from Poland to the Black Sea. Belarus and Russia offer parliamentary diplomacy as a healthy alternative to hybrid wars. We are ready for an equal and respectful dialogue, now it’s the turn of our Western partners.
