The personnel day was held at the Palace of Independence today. The President has agreed on a number of appointments of local leaders of the Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno, Mogilev and Minsk Regions.

The head of state pays close attention to personnel selection, especially in the regions.The applicants for posts are carefully selected. Stable work and the development of many spheres, from agriculture to business, depends on it. When appointing new chairmen of district executive committees, the President always directs his attention to solving people's issues. Not a single reception of citizens by heads or their deputies should be formalistic. Now, the hottest topic is the harvesting season. It is necessary to mobilize all forces as much as possible, so as not to lose any grain.

Today the President has also agreed Gennady Timoshevich for the post of director general of Belspets-Vneshtechnika. Nikolai Baligatov has become director of Geoinformation Management Systems. In addition, the appointments to the Academy of Sciences, Belstat, the State Committee on Science and Technology and the Department of State Bills of the Ministry of Finance were agreed on in working order. The head of state also appointed Vladimir Borovikov ambassador to Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar concurrently.
