Lukashenko: There will be no mobilization in Belarus
The President had a talk with journalists. As never before, there were many urgent, topical questions on a variety of topics: from the news from the neighbors (will mobilization affect us?) to the international agenda (why Belarus should join the SCO?).
Why is it important for Minsk to build up its reputation in the East? How is China helping us in this? How are we going to conduct an information war? But the first question is at the top of the list of discussions and comments. More than one fake has grown on its wave. So, will Belarus follow Russia in mobilization? Alexander Lukashenko clearly and precisely got the priority straight.
"There will be no mobilization. We are not going to mobilize. This is a lie," said Alexander Lukashenko.
However, the President stressed that Belarus would definitely respond to possible threats and attempts to commit acts of terrorism. To this end, various exercises are held on a regular basis, including those involving the people's militia, so that people knew their duties and had the necessary military skills.
Alexander Lukashenko pointed out that the country is drawing conclusions from the experience of modern warfare and has been adapting the army and making it more mobile for a number of years.
At the same time, the President assured that Belarus would not get involved in any war. "We will fight only when we have to defend our home and our land," he stressed.
А. Lukashenko: information policy should be based on truth and facts, no lies
The head of the state once again drew attention to the fact that an information war had been unleashed in the world and that information and psychological operations are carried out. And in this situation one should by no means wait and respond, the Belarusian leader is convinced.
However one should by no means use fakes in this fight, stressed the head of state. After all, sooner or later the truth will be found out. "There should be no outright lies on the screen. The basis should be the truth and facts," the President emphasized.
As for the international agenda, Belarus becomes a full member of SCO (today it is the most influential organization in Asia). In fact, the Shanghai Organization is turning into a global structure. The interest of many nations in it is only growing.
A. Lukashenko: Belarus expects to gain SCO membership in a year.
"What we need to strengthen in the SCO is urgency. If we have decided to go, we should go. And we have to do it quickly. And so the essence of my statement at the end was that we must give a chance to progressive humanity. It is necessary to integrate Belarus into this system of international relations. Look at how many have become partners. To my mind, four or three states, Qatar, the Emirates and Saudi Arabia, the richest countries, have become partners. We were once partners. Some became observers. Turkey has already announced that they are ready to join, although they did not perceive the SCO in that perspective before. Azerbaijan and many of the richest countries, they are the future for sure," said Lukashenko.
