Belarus is considering ports of Astrakhan Region to increase its cargo traffic across the Caspian Sea. And it seriously intends to use the Caspian corridor in the interests of its export enterprises. Today we are ready to develop cooperation in all directions, special attention to bilateral trade turnover. This year it has grown by 2.5 times and reached almost 50 million dollars. The partners are ready to increase supplies - to each other's market and also special attention to logistics.
"Now we have about 90 thousand tons of cargo transshipped through both Astrakhan sea port and Armada," said Roman Golovchenko.
"And this is just the beginning, because in accordance with the agreement signed between the governments of Belarus and Russia, the volume of Belarusian goods that can and should go through the ports of Astrakhan will be 650-850 thousand tons next year. I think this is not bad volume. Serious work needs to be done in order to reach these volumes.
