Plans for a billion and a roadmap - Results of historic visit of President of Belarus to Uzbekistan
A billion-dollar trade turnover and more than 80 projects in the roadmap to 2025. February 10 marked the end of the official visit of the President of Belarus to Uzbekistan. It has already been called historic for the relations between Minsk and Tashkent. For several days, the heads of state discussed the future of the partnership in different formats. Aircraft No. 1 left for Minsk with an impressive portfolio of final documents. The President was seen off at the airport by the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan.
The parties agreed on specific projects that should bring mutual trade to a billion dollars, and this is not the final figure. The main thing is that both countries and leaders are extremely interested in each other. Uzbekistan has its own raw material base, but lacks technologies. Belarusians are ready to provide them: in agriculture, industry, education, personnel training and healthcare.
Medicine is one of the locomotives of mutually beneficial cooperation between our states. According to Ambassador of Belarus to Uzbekistan Leonid Marinich, there is already experience of joint work: specialists have been trained at our clinics, Belarusian specialists have traveled to Tashkent to perform complex operations. Our country is interested in supplying its medicines to Uzbekistan, the partners are ready to provide guarantees for the purchase of pharmaceutical products. During the talks, the issues of joint production of antibiotics and support for mothers were raised.
