President of Belarus to Ambassador of Azerbaijan: Good, close and friendly relations have developed between the peoples of our countries
Minsk and Baku are not just allies, but old friends who are ready to come to each other's rescue in any situation. Alexander Lukashenko met today with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Belarus.
Latif Gandilov is completing his diplomatic mission in our country. He has held the post of Ambassador since January 2017. As Alexander Lukashenko has noted, the basis of relations between the states is exceptional mutual understanding not only at the level of politicians, but also at the level of peoples.
Minsk and Baku are long-standing diplomatic and trade partners. The turnover between the two amounted to almost $ 450 million in 2021. They showed a slight increase, taking into account the coronavirus pandemic. Belarus sends agricultural equipment, medicines, beef, milk and various timber to Azerbaijan.
A good impetus to bilateral relations was given by the visit of Alexander Lukashenko to Baku in April this year. Then the leaders in a friendly atmosphere agreed to create joint ventures and increase oil supplies to our country. Minsk also expressed its readiness to help in the restoration of lands affected by the war in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The President's work schedule is very busy today. Two more meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country and the Prosecutor General, who has been in office for a year, are planned in the Palace of Independence.
