The urgent issues of integration were discussed today at a meeting between the President and the head of the Collegium of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Mikhail Myasnikovich. Measures have been taken within the EEU to compensate for the losses incurred from the sanctions imposed by the West.
A number of decisions on customs and tariff regulations - zero or significantly reduce import duties on more than a thousand commodity groups in order to prevent our enterprises from being left without raw materials and components, and to saturate the domestic market. Also, decisions were made on more preferential forms of purchasing goods by natural persons, which is real support for business and the population. It is estimated at $2.8 billion.
The future of the Eurasian Economic Union after 2025 was also discussed today. Our President put forward bold proposals on deepening integration in Eurasia.
Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission:
“We have an EAEU development strategy until 2025, which the heads of state approved in December 2020. In this plan, of course, issues related to investment cooperation, the creation of joint trans-Eurasian companies. First of all, Russian-Belarusian companies that will feel quite confident in the domestic market and produce the goods that are in demand on world markets. The recommendations formulated by Alexander Lukashenko regarding development institutions are very interesting and constructive. These are not only the Eurasian Development Bank and the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development. Now, it would seem unfriendly behavior of other countries, but this is exactly the time when it is necessary to invest very seriously in the creation of new projects. These are all questions that I have accepted for further study. Of course, we will have a very serious discussion at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.”
The EEU countries intend to develop an actual model and scheme of calculations.
EAEC countries also intend to develop an actual model and scheme of calculations, taking into account the current situation. Alexander Lukashenko shared his views in this regard. Suggestions will be taken into account!
