President meets with First Lady of Zimbabwe
Alexander Lukashenko held a meeting with the First Lady of Zimbabwe. Auxillia Mnangagwa’s visit to Belarus is a follow up on the agreements at the level of heads of state on cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. Maternity, childhood and healthcare are top priorities. The Belarusian leader confirmed that we are ready to help implement several projects.
Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus:
“I am fulfilling a request of my friend President Emmerson so that the technologies that are in demand in Zimbabwe today would be there. We are ready to help you implement several projects in accordance with the wishes of your country and your President to build high-tech enterprises, primarily in the humanitarian sphere. Emmerson Mnangagwa, President of Zimbabwe, asked for assistance in creating in his country a system similar to the Belarusian one in the area of obstetrics, help for children, especially newborns, and solve the problem of child nutrition. "In short, women and children are a priority, Emmerson told me more than once during my visit to your country."
He noted that during his visit to Belarus, Oxilia Mnangagwa became familiar with the opportunities available in the country. "The doors were open everywhere. So choose, decide, let's start acting. Moreover, tell Emmerson - he asked me to have talks in the Emirates and in Russia on the implementation of joint projects - there was no refusal in either direction. These two countries he mentioned are extremely interested in cooperation with African states, especially Zimbabwe. Belarus has enough technologies that Zimbabwe needs. The main thing now is desire and speed in implementing what has been planned. We have to do everything fast."
The key topics of the conversation include medicine, agriculture, and the mining industry. Among the topics discussed there are exchange programs and opportunities for training specialists in our universities. After all, the country needs not only equipment and technology, but also qualified personnel.
Auxillia Mnangagwa, spouse of the President of Zimbabwe:
“Alexander Lukashenko's visit to Zimbabwe was truly historic. People in our country still remember him. We were very happy to host him. And today we had a wonderful meeting. It so happened that there was absolutely no closed topic between us. I felt absolutely at home. We were discussing the past. And now I can see that our cooperation will move forward, because your President has one important thing that we also have. He is able and willing to work hard and long hours. Our country will benefit immensely from this cooperation, because Belarus is a giant for us.”
Representatives of Zimbabwe are expected to come to us soon to establish contacts with Belarusian business on the spot.
