Belarus' foreign policy priorities remain unchanged, Aleinik assures
The priorities of Belarus' foreign policy will remain unchanged. This statement was made by Foreign Minister Sergey Aleinik, BelTA informs.
"I am sincerely grateful to the President for his trust. I realize that it is a huge responsibility. Yesterday Alexander Lukashenko said while appointing me to the office that it would not be easy. And it is indeed so. We clearly understand it," Aleinik said.
The Minister pointed out that the current stage is related to radical changes in the world order, unprecedented geopolitical situation and revision of essentially all the rules of international relations.
"The priorities of the foreign policy of Belarus remain unchanged. The main priority of the foreign policy has been clearly defined by the head of state – this is to preserve and strengthen the sovereignty, independence, development of economic potential and well-being of the people," underlined the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.
The new Minister of Foreign Affairs was introduced to the staff of the Foreign Ministry by Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko.
