Lukashenko holds number of phone conversations on August 30-31
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko held a series of phone conversations on August 30-31, the press service of the Belarusian leader said.
First of all, they discussed the urgent issues of Belarusian-Azerbaijani bilateral relations with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The leaders also exchanged their opinions about the international agenda.
The forthcoming summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization scheduled for mid-September was the main topic of conversation with the President of Uzbekistan. The Belarusian head of state is planning to participate in the summit. Alexander Lukashenko and Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed the development of interaction between Belarus and Uzbekistan both in the context of bilateral co-operation and in terms of interaction within integration organizations.
Alexander Lukashenko talked about the forthcoming summit in Uzbekistan during the phone conversation with Vladimir Putin. The Presidents of Belarus and Russia agreed to hold a meeting on the margins of the SCO. The leaders, however, discussed not only these plans, but also the schedule of further contacts in general. Belarusian-Russian relations, the most urgent issues and the situation in the region and the world were also discussed.
The Belarusian leader also had a telephone conversation with President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan. He discussed Belarusian-Kazakhstani relations and the international agenda.
He also had a telephone conversation with the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, Valentina Matvienko.
He did not do without congratulations. Numerous messages from foreign leaders addressed to Alexander Lukashenko have also been received these days: specifically, from President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, President of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon, President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
Telegrams were also received from prominent figures from various spheres of both near and far abroad, as well as from the leaders of integration structures.
