Savinykh explains what transfer of cluster munitions to Kiev means
On July 7, the administration of US President Joe Biden announced the provision of a new military aid package to Ukraine, including cluster munitions. Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Andrei Savinykh dwelled on what such a step by Washington is indicative of.
Despite the fact that many countries do not approve of the delivery of cluster munitions, their transfer to Kiev will not become a stumbling stone for the Western coalition, said the deputy.
"There is no democracy there, no collective decision-making," explained Andrei Savinykh.
"Another question is why the Americans are doing this. Specialists know that this weapon acts very badly on the troops who sit in the trenches. These weapons are dangerous first of all for the civilian population. I can draw two conclusions from all this. The first is that the Americans no longer see the point in supplying Ukraine with better quality weapons and want to keep them for Taiwan. The second conclusion is that they see no prospects for victory of Ukraine. And this means that it is necessary to leave a scorched earth, to create as many problems as possible for Russia to restore these territories, to return them to normal life activity," the speaker shared his opinion.
According to him, the United States has always acted in this way.
