Sergeenko: Parliaments have special responsibility to their constituents to address modern challenges and threats
X BRICS Parliamentary Forum showed unanimity of the participants in the issues of the world order, multipolarity and further economic development.
Today the second day of the forum was held in St. Petersburg. The Belarusian parliamentary delegation is participating in the BRICS Plus meeting for the first time. While addressing the forum participants, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus noted: parliaments bear a special responsibility before their constituents to address modern challenges and threats. Today the system of international law is collapsing and economic and political crises are artificially created. First of all, this is favorable to the collective West, which wants to retain its world domination. And the situation can be changed only by joining forces with like-minded people. Therefore, Belarus has become the tenth full member of the SCO and has applied to join the BRICS.
Igor Sergeenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus:
“BRICS activities are multifaceted. These are issues of politics, economics, finance, humanitarian projects, culture - in other words, practically all spheres of activity of the countries, in which joint coordinated positions are being developed against sanctions, discrimination and illegitimate financial measures that are applied. For us, of course, this association is of interest.”
