Peace in the region is the supreme value for Belarus

Belarus does everything in its power to help the conflicting parties to stop the bloodshed. It supports dialogue and not confrontation, peace and not war. We don't want any conflicts! In this regard, Minsk is more consistent than ever, always standing by one position: "Let's overcome differences by talking!"

The President convened an expanded Security Council meeting this week with the government, media, and expert community in order to get the full picture: what's really going on and how. The anti-Russian information propaganda is trying by all means to draw Belarus into this conflict. The number of fakes and outright lies is off the scale.

But all the fakes are broken by the facts. Belarus does not take part in military operations! Not a single military unit has been withdrawn from the place of permanent deployment. We think first of all about the security of our people and our borders. This is a priority in conditions of military and political tension around Belarus. The situation is serious, and is changing every minute.

The current situation is a direct consequence of the calculated policy of the West. The West pushes its own interests at the expense of the security of others. The West heats up conflicts with the hands of others and forces them to take up arms in order to set on fire even more points on the world map. It is obvious that the Ukrainian story is a big geopolitical combination aimed at weakening Moscow as one of the key players and opponents of the United States and the EU.
