CIS countries retain positive development dynamics
All CIS countries retain positive development dynamics: the aggregate GDP, according to preliminary estimates, has grown by 4.7 percent. The Commonwealth managed to respond quickly to negative trends in foreign trade and increased the volume of mutual trade within the organization. The current cooperation agenda was discussed at a meeting of the CIS Economic Council today. The meeting took place in Nur-Sultan.
Belarus was represented by Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko. They discussed the most topical issues such as industrial cooperation, import substitution and food security, as well as logistics schemes of deliveries and customs clearance issues. According to Igor Petrishenko, the parties have shown interest in the development of the integration association.
The Deputy Prime Ministers agreed to speed up work on the draft agreement on free trade in services, including cooperation in the field of investment. The parties agreed that it is an important tool for the economies of the CIS member states, their enterprises, industries and business. The next meeting of the CIS Economic Council will be held in Moscow on 23 September.
