CEC: Some candidates refuse to run for deputy office

Some candidates for deputies refuse to run for office. The CEC has already announced 4 such facts. 560 candidates were registered. Some of them are leaving the race because are not ready for the responsibilities that this status provides for. For example, according to the law, a candidate is obliged to take a leave of absence for the entire duration of the election campaign. If this rule is ignored, a warning is issued, and then a decision is made to cancel the registration.

In early November, Belarusians will start receiving invitations to the elections and information leaflets about the candidates. Meanwhile, 4500 national observers have already been registered, and about 400 people have been accredited among foreign observers, the OSCE and CIS missions and observers from the central election commissions.
