23.5 thousand foreign soldiers brought to Belarusian borders
While the squabble in the West over German tanks for Ukraine is not subsiding, not only the NATO contingent but also the national armed forces of our southern neighbors are gathering around the Belarusian borders. European politicians declare that the next few weeks will be decisive for dramatic events in 2023.
Bloomberg cites shocking data: since the start of the conflict, Kiev has received more than 4,000 pieces of military equipment from the West. The total cost is over $50 billion. However, Russia's capture of Soledar has given a new impetus to the escalation of the conflict. A train was spotted in Poland carrying American Bradley armored infantry vehicles to the Ukrainian border. The Pentagon promised to transfer 59 such vehicles to Kiev, apparently the deliveries will be completed in the next few days.
The epic with European tanks for Ukraine also continues. Germany still refuses to supply its tanks, but Minister of Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock announced that she would agree to transfer the "Leopards" to a third party if such a request is received, for example, from Poland.
But it's not Ukraine that interests the militaristic West. Tensions near the borders of Belarus are growing. More NATO troops will appear in Poland and move to the east of the country, says Duda. Moreover, the authorities are continuing the policy of arming the country with their own resources.
The Ministry of National Defense of Poland intends to organize exercises, which will involve 200 thousand reservists. The number of the army will gradually increase up to 300 thousand. But now there are already 3 700 military men on the Polish border with Belarus, according to the State Border Committee.
Germany and France are preparing for joint exercises in Lithuania and Romania. The media report this, referring to the joint declaration after the meeting of the Franco-German Council of Ministers. The purpose of maneuvers is announced as "support of eastern allies".
